PYRÉNÉES ORIENTALES- Département 66A land of sun and light, this département looks like a plain surrounded by a semi-circle of mountains, with a coast bathed by the Mediterranean to the east. Pyrénées-Orientales borders Spain, Andorra and the Languedoc. In the space of some hundred kilometres you can go from the 3,000 metre-high Pyrenean summits to reach the shores of the Mediterranean.
